DIY chandelier

Today I am gonna show you a diy chandelier that I learned. (i cant remember where). I am going to also give tips and tricks i learned while making these. Because lets face it, the way I learned was from 4 pictures and well quite a few disasters happened. sheesh. so here's the best way.

WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Paint swatches
2. Fancy paper (Opt.)
3. Lamp shade (any size, small is best).
4. paper cutter (opt, but really helps)
5. paper stamp cutter (shape paper cutter, also opt, but makes way easier.)
6. scissors
7. hot glue gun
8. string
9. led battery light to put inside

 

 

HOW TO MAKE:
1. Start out by taking your lamp shade and cutting off the outer cover. You need a lamp shade that has the wire bars that separate the top and bottom circles.
2. next take your paper cutter and cut your fancy paper into strips big enough for you to get your shape stamp on and make several cuts.
3. Use your shape stamp and cut out shapes from fancy paper (if using) and paint swatches.

4. Measure your string (I used hemp) So that it is long enough to tie to the top bar and hang down and slightly over hang the bottom (The longer circle is the top and the smaller is the bottom. )
5. Cut all strings.

6. Heat up your glue gun. Then glue your shapes down the string until the cover all the string you will not be tying. to all the strings.

7.  Once you've done that Start tying the strings to the bar. Then take your Top shape and glue it to the bar for extra sturdiness.

 

 

8. Let dry
9. Put your light in. (you can also find a corded light at craft stores or hardware stores).
