Pool time

I love going to the pool in the summer. But I don't like compromising my skin. I have found Aveeno sunscreen that is 100+! Woo Hoo my skin loves that!! If you must tan there are plenty of good fake tanning products out there. (jergans gradual tanning lotion is my favorite, but i hear amazing things about st. tropez tanning mousse (kind of pricey in my opinion)). I also make sure to drink tons of water!
Another thing about the pool that i could do with out is the over-drying of my hair from the chlorine. I recently came across 2 tricks to help with this!
  • Put a good conditioner through your hair and then braid it or put it in a bun. (The braid is better if you can do it. ) Leave it in as you swim. Once you are done rinse it out. Yea no over dried out hair.
  • The next trick is when you get out of the pool rinse your hair with club soda. This rinses the chlorine completely out of your hair. Then make sure to condition. (Garne fructies has a good deep conditioner and Aussies 3 minute miracle is good).
Hope these tricks help you this summer on your trips to the pool or beach. :)
Chlorine and the sun are drying, make sure to drink
plenty of water! :)

I love aveeno because it doesn't clog my pores.

Do you have any good tips for beach or pool season?? I would love to hear (read)!!

  1. I really like to use KMS California beach protectant. It is a water resistant beach creme. Basically, it is sunscreen for your hair. I put it in first thing in the morning, slick my hair back and it is good to go for the day. It protects my hair from sun, salt water and pool water. Great stuff!

  2. I thought having short hair would make swimming a breeze... but I have not had a chance to swim since it has been short.
